THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the full and complete Word of God, and that is inspired by the Holy Ghost, and completely reliable for learning and teaching. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21) We believe that God divinely inspired, and preserved the very words of Scripture throughout the ages, and that the Bible has been preserved for English speaking people, in the King James Version. (2 Timothy 3:16; Matthew 24:35; Psalm 119:80,90; Psalm 12:6,7)
We believe that the Word of God is inerrant and infallible, not only in the original manuscripts, because they were directly from God but, also in the copies of the Bible which God divinely preserved. (1 Peter 1:23) We believe that the whole counsel of God should be preached, and that Scripture should be compared with Scripture to make the correct interpretation. (Acts 20:27; Isaiah 28:13; 1 Corinthians 2:13)
GOD
We believe that God’s Word proclaims the preexistence of an Almighty God, who is the creator of everything and actively sustains all things. (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1; Colossians 1:17) We believe that God created the earth, and all that is therein in six, literal, twenty-four hour days. (Genesis 1-3; Colossians 1:16) We believe that God is a perfect being who has complete knowledge about everything that is, that ever was, and that ever will be. (Romans 11:33; Acts 15:18) We believe that God is a Trinity, co-equal, co-existent, and co-eternal, yet still one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7)
We believe that God’s defining attribute is His holiness, and because He is a holy God, He hates sin and is totally separate from it. (1 Peter 1:16) We believe that God is also God of love, and because of His great love for all mankind, he has revealed in His Word the plan of salvation and how we should live. (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; 1Peter 1:15)
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that the Scriptures teach that Jesus is fully God, and that He is the second person in the Trinity. (Hebrews 1:8; Titus 2:13; John 10:30; 1 John 5:20) We believe that He came down to earth, He was born of a virgin for the purpose of dying for our sins. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18,21,23; Luke 19:10) We believe that when He was incarnated, He was still fully God, and fully man. (1 Timothy 3:16; Philippians 2:8; 1 John 5:20)
We believe that Christ is God’s only begotten Son, and that He was the perfect, sinless sacrifice who shed His blood to save us from our sins. (Matthew 1:21; John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 1:18,19) We believe that Jesus willingly died on the cross shedding His blood, and rose again the third day. (1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Matthew 28:1-8) We believe that Jesus later ascended into heaven, and is now preparing a place for His children. (Like 24:40,51; John 14:2,3)
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity, and that He is equal with the other two persons. (Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7) We believe that He is a real personality, and that He is fully God. (Acts 5:3,4; 1 Corinthians 2:10-12) We believe that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is a one-time event occurring only at salvation. (Ephesians 1:13,14; Acts 10:47) We believe that the Holy Spirit authored the Scriptures. (2 Peter 1:21) We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the unsaved of sin, righteousness, and judgment. (John 16:8) We believe that the He was present, and active, during the creation of the world. (Genesis 1:2; Job 33:4) We believe that the Holy Spirit illuminates the Word for the believer, and comforts him when needed. (John 14:26; 16:13) We believe that the Holy Spirit gifts the believer for a lifetime of service, and that His fruit enables us to live a victorious Christian life in view of the world. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11; Galatians 5:22,23) We believe that the Holy Spirit is our power to witness and serve God. (Acts 1:8)
MAN AND SIN
We believe that according to the Scriptures, God created man in His own image. (Genesis 1:26,27) We believe that God created only two genders, male and female, and these two genders should remain distinctively different in authority, function, and appearances. (Genesis 1:27; Deuteronomy 22:5) We believe that even though man was a perfectly made being, he chose to sin and disobey God, by eating of the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:1-7) As a result of that disobedience, we believe that sin entered into the world by Adam. (Romans 5:12) We believe that because of Adam’s sin, God cursed the earth, and now all mankind are sinners. (Genesis 3:14-19; Romans 3:10,23) We believe that because of our sin, we deserve to pay the God’s penalty for sin, which is death. (Romans 1:32;6:23)
SALVATION
We believe that Jesus was born on earth, so He could be our sacrifice for sin. (John 3:16; Isaiah 53:6,10; Romans 5:8) We believe that the gospel by which all mankind are saved is that Jesus completely paid for the sin of the whole world by dying on the cross, being buried, and then rising again the third day. (1 Corinthians 15:3,4)
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone in the finished work of Christ, plus nothing and minus nothing. (Ephesians 2:8,9; Galatians 2:16) We believe that for an individual to be saved he needs to first realize that he is a sinner, and that his sin separates him from a Holy God. (Romans 3:10;23;6:23, Ephesians 2:8,9) We believe then the sinner must repent of his sin, and believe that Christ died on the cross shedding His blood to pay the penalty for their sin. (Romans 5:8; Hebrews 9:22; John 3:16; Acts 16:31) (Luke 13:3; Mark 1:15)
We believe that salvation is freely offered to the whole world. (John 3:16) We believe that once an individual is saved, he eternally secure in Christ. (John 1:12; 3:26;5:24) We believe that after three days in the tomb, Christ literally arose from the dead, and that His resurrection is the pivotal point of our faith. (Acts 2:32; 1 Corinthians 15:12-17)
THE CHURCH
We believe that it is clear in Scripture that Jesus Christ is the head and founder of the Church. (Matthew 16:18) We believe that the Biblical and proper local church is an autonomous body of baptized believers meeting together in a specific city, under the leadership of God’s chosen man, and not under a hierarchy or denominational name. (Acts 2:41; Romans 6:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:1) We believe that there are only two officers of the New Testament church, Pastor and Deacon. We believe that the Pastor is the earthly leader of the church, under God, and he is directed by God and His Word. We believe that the Deacons should be servants to help the Pastor. (1 Timothy 3)
We believe that God has given the church two ordinances. The first ordinance is baptism by immersion, and it is performed only on a saved individual. (Acts 2:41;8:12,13,38,39) The second ordinance, instituted by Christ, is the Lord’s Supper. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is only a symbol to be done in remembrance of Christ with NO saving powers involved. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
We believe that the mission of the church is to reach the lost in all locations of the world, see them scripturally baptized, and then train disciples who will share the gospel as it was once shared with them. (Matthew 28:19,20; Acts 1:8)
We believe that the church should be different, and separated from the worldly religious philosophies, worldly secular philosophies, and from worldly ways of living. (James 4:4; 2 Corinthians 6:17-7:1) We stand opposed to all the modern religious philosophies which seek to undermine the authority of God’s Word, and the fundamentals of the faith, including: Pentecostalism, the Charismatic Movement, New Evangelicalism, and the Ecumenical Movement. We believe that the church should discipline its erring members, and that the goals of church discipline should be purity and restoration. (1 Corinthians 5:5-8; 2 Corinthians 2:5-11; Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 5:11)
ANGELS, SATAN, AND DEMONS
We believe that angels are real personalities, and that God created them as holy, ministering spirits, that exist to worship God, and do the will of God. (Psalm 103:20-21; 148:2-5; Isaiah 6:1-4; Hebrews 1:13,14) We believe that Satan, once a highly favored, musical angel, called Lucifer, is a real personality who lost favor with God when he rebelled and wanted to be greater then Almighty God. (Isaiah 14:12-14; Matthew 4:1-11) We believe that when Satan fell, he convinced other angels to rebel with him. Those fallen angels, or demons as we commonly refer to them, actively assist Satan in this world today; tempting the believer to sin, and deceiving the unsaved into rejecting God. (Ephesians 6:10-12; 1 Peter 5:8; 2 Corinthians 4:4) We believe that the end of Satan and his demons, will be eternity in the Lake of Fire. (Matthew 25:41; 2Peter 2:4; Revelation 20:10)
HEAVEN AND HELL
We believe that the Bible teaches the existence of a literal Heaven and a literal Hell. (John 14:1-3; 1Thessalonians 4:15-18; Matthew 16:18; Revelation 20:10,14,15) We believe that heaven is the eternal dwelling place for those who accept the free gift of Salvation as offered by Christ. (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17; John 3:16) We believe that Hell is the eternal dwelling place for those who have rejected God’s Salvation. (Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:11-15)
THINGS TO COME
We believe, on the authority of God’s Word, that Jesus will someday rapture the church, and bring them to their eternal home in heaven. (1 Thessalonians4:16,17; John 14:3; Acts 1:11) We believe that the rapture is pre-tribulational and pre-millennial. (Revelation 3:10) We believe that no man knows the exact timing of the return of Christ. (Matthew 25:13)
We believe that the next event for the believer (after the rapture) will be the Judgment seat of Christ where believers will be rewarded for their deeds done after their salvation. (1Corinthians 3:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10) We believe that after the rapture, there will be a seven year Tribulation on earth, where God will resume dealings with His covenant people Israel as well as enact a serious of judgments upon those who have rejected Him. (Daniel 9:24-27; Revelation4-22)
We believe that the Tribulation will be ended by the Second coming of Christ, and a great battle, called Armageddon, during which millions of earths remaining population will die. (Revelation 19:11-21; Zechariah 14:2,3) We believe that following this horrible battle will be a peaceful period of 1,000 years (the Millennium) where Satan will be bound in the bottomless pit. The raptured church and martyred saints will assist Christ in ruling the earth. (Isaiah 2:4;11:6-9; Daniel 7:13,14; Revelation 20:1-6)
After the Millennium, we believe that Satan will be loosed for a short while during which time he will tempt and influence those who were not saved during the Millennium, to rebel against God in one last earthly battle. They will not succeed and will be destroyed by fire from heaven. (Revelation 20:7-9) We believe that after Satan’s last attempt to defeat God, he will be cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity. AMEN!! (Revelation 20:10)
We believe at this point the Bible teaches that the Great White Throne Judgment will take place, where all unbelievers, both living and dead, will stand before God for the final judgment of their sin, and the issuing of their sentence of eternity in the Lake of Fire. (Revelation 20:11-15)
